six QBs go in first round,Authentic Ryan Succop Jersey,2018 NFL Mock Draft: Bills trade up to grab Baker Mayfield
A lot will happen between now and the 2018 NFL Draft. Whether it's a blockbuster trade or a huge offseason signing, AJ McCarron will almost certainly move on from Cincinnati and the Vikings and Eagles will have decided whether Case Keenum (who could be franchised) and Nick Foles' (who could be traded) miraculous seasons warrant keeping them around for another season., teams with gaping holes currently at quarterback will have some clarity about the position in the coming weeks. That means Kirk Cousins will be somewhere other than Washington
Whatever happens,Authentic Avery Williamson Jersey, the bottom line remains the same: in the NFL, you're only as good as your quarterback. It's why the Texans signed Brock Osweiler to a $72 million deal two offseasons ago,Authentic Jurrell Casey Jersey, and it's why the Bears gave Mike Glennon a three-year deal last year. Neither player worked out -- which just about everyone predicted -- but desperate times, as they say.
So expect those clubs that have languished without a franchise passer to be bold as the draft approaches. Two years ago,699 yards with 19 touchdowns,Authentic Brett Kern Jersey, the Eagles traded up to take Carson Wentz. Last year, the Texans did the same to get Deshaun Watson. Wentz was a legit MVP candidate until he suffered a knee injury in mid-December. And Watson, had thrown for 1, in six starts,Authentic Derrick Morgan Jersey, eight interceptions and a 103.0 passer rating until a knee injury sidelined him in early November.
and proceeded to go 1-31 since 2016. Which is why they're taking a QB in the first round this year -- even if they sign a veteran -- the only question is when.,This is where we point out that the Browns passed on both quarterbacks
a team that made the playoffs for the first time since 1999 in spite of their quarterback,Meanwhile,Authentic Josh Kline Jersey, should use the draft to address that pressing need. The Bills, are officially in the market for a franchise passer, who were so unimpressed with Tyrod Taylor last season that they benched him for unproven rookie Nathan Peterman in Week 11 only to reinsert Taylor back into the lineup at halftime after Peterson threw five interceptions, and they'll use one of their two first-round picks to land him.
so much so that he went on a Twitter rant directed at his current the night he heard the news. The rant was eventually partially deleted but was one that was uncommon among NFL players in terms of its harsh criticism of his current team's front office moves. ,Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger was a very unhappy camper when news broke on January 31 that his teammate Kendall Fuller was heading to the Kansas City Chiefs as part of a trade that will send quarterback Alex Smith to Washington
Swearinger was disappointed to see the Redskins trade Fuller, "Never Saw Any Bulls*** Like This In My Life!! Idc who i rub wrong because you never sat in a meeting nor put in work with my dawg!! People say they wanna win right but you throw away your best defender!?!? Somebody you can set a standard with?!?!", who had emerged in his second NFL season as one of the more talented young cornerbacks in the game. One of Swearinger's deleted tweets read
telling NFL Total Access host Lindsay Rhodes he understood why his team made the move even though he thinks Fuller can continue to grow into one of the NFL's best cornerbacks.,Swearinger explained that rant during an appearance on the NFL Network earlier this week
"I sat in the meeting rooms with Kendall Fuller, and to come in and watch him grow from the meeting room in OTA 1 to the end of the year, and I'm happy for Kendall," Swearinger said. "Last year he was a rookie; I saw the struggles he had as a rookie, seeing him grow into the tremendous player he is, it just hurt me a little. To see a young guy that can grow to be one of the best DBs in this league, to see him walk away, I understood it, watched him grow, it kind of hurt me a lot. But when I sat down and understood the business part of things, happy for Alex, happy for this organization."
By bringing in Smith and signing him to a four-year contract extension, a player neither Swearinger nor other Redskins players wanted the team to trade away., the Redskins solidified the starting quarterback position for the future while saving themselves from having to give a bigger contract to pending free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins. Part of the price to make that happen was Fuller
and we needed to give them a player to get Alex, but like I say,Womens Wesley Woodyard Jersey, and Kendall was the guy they wanted," Swearinger said. "That's what happened, being the type of teammate and player he was,Womens Ryan Succop Jersey,"We wanted Alex and we needed Alex, and that's why I say the business is the business. I know a lot of the guys on the team didn't want Kendall to be away from us,Womens Avery Williamson Jersey, the business is the business in that aspect."
The trade, will become official when the league year opens on March 14. The Chiefs are obviously hoping Swearinger is right about Fuller's future and that they've added a player who can be a major factor in their secondary for many seasons to come., which in addition to swapping Fuller for Smith will also send a third-round draft pick from Washington to Kansas City
When Jon Gruden took the Oakland Raiders head coaching gig,Womens Jurrell Casey Jersey, who was hired as a strength and conditioning coach. Deuce formerly coached on his uncle Jay's staff over with the Washington Redskins prior to coming to the Raiders., he brought along plenty of new coaches who he trusts and knows he can rely on. One of those names was his own son in Deuce Gruden
Deuce will be a solid addition to the staff and he won a powerlifting gold at least year's world championships. Recently, and one topic that came up was his son Deuce.,Womens Brett Kern Jersey,MMQB's S.L. Price spoke with the Raiders new head coach on a wide range of things in an in-depth interview
I think we can safely say that the hiring of Deuce as the Raiders new strength-and-conditioning coach should be a solid one. Plus,Womens Josh Kline Jersey,  even though he's only 24 years old., he also has plenty of NFL experience working with the Redskins
but don't be surprised if the Raiders players have some pretty intense workout regiments coming in the very near future with the 2018 season on the horizon.,Time will tell
the Chiefs haven't made an overture toward trading Marcus Peters to this point,Womens Derrick Morgan Jersey,From what I am hearing from other NFL teams, but other clubs anticipate his name coming up next week at the combine. Owner Clark Hunt has some concerns with Peters' actions last season, and some of his unusual behavior during games, as I hear it, and he might not be long for Kansas City.
This is an extremely talented and impactful player, but one who entered the league with some major red flags, and the Chiefs took their share of character risks in recent years and may have reached a tipping point. Peters is young and cheap and there will certainly be interested clubs should Andy Reid push the trade avenue, and the franchise has certainly been proactive already this winter, reshaping itself by waving goodbye to Derrick Johnson and Darrelle Revis and trading Alex Smith (hard not to wonder if Tamba Hali is next). Would a team like Seattle – who watched Peters play college ball in its backyard and who is often willing to take on risky players and who could need a cheap playmaking corner with its defense being re-shaped this offseason – be among those who make a good potential trade fit?
Peters is a player that other front office execs are talking about right now, regardless, and with the Chiefs fortifying the corner position already, well before the start of the new league year and free agency, perhaps there ends up being fire to this smoke.
and is more clear than any of them about Peters' behavior being the root of the trade speculation. Also of note is La Canfora saying the Chiefs haven't tried to trade Peters but that there are teams thinking that could change at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.,La Canfora's report is the first one to mention Hunt specifically
trading Peters isn't a great idea from a football-only perspective,As has been discussed here in recent days, but it might not matter if all that is outweighed by any concerns the Chiefs have over his behavior, an outburst he had towards a fan in Arrowhead Stadium during a Monday night game against the Redskins, which may or may not include the one-game suspension he was given after the loss to the Jets, and his decision not to stand for the national anthem. The NFL Scouting Combine begins February 27 and runs through March 5; hopefully somewhere in there more answers will be provided on this issue.
the Bucs also cut defensive tackle Chris Baker on Tuesday.,Along with releasing Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin
Baker joined the Bucs last offseason when he signed a three-year deal worth $15.75 million and $6 million guaranteed. Prior to his signing, he suited up for the Washington Redskins for six seasons where he established himself as a dominant defender. The Bucs hoped that his performance in Washington would translate to his time in Tampa Bay alongside Gerald McCoy, however, Baker didn’t live up to his potential and the high expectations the franchise had of him.
As a result, two passes defended and a half of  a sack in 15 games and didn’t perform at the level the team needed him to. There were also quite a few questions regarding his lack of effort in practice and overall locker room and on-the-field demeanor like the time he showed no remorse after racking up a costly penalty versus the Panthers this season., Baker recorded just 33 tackles
the Bucs have officially decided to move on from the 30-year-old defensive tackle and the team will save $4.875 million on the salary cap with zero dead money by releasing Baker.,So
